Novgorod police found a car stolen "to order" near Kaluga

Novgorod district operatives solved a "custom-made" theft of a foreign car, detaining a professional car thief. He turned out to be a 57-year-old Novgorod resident with a criminal record. According to the regional police department, in June of this year, the perpetrator "custom-made" theft of a 2020 Hyundai Creta in the Novgorod district. To do this, he used special devices and changed the state registration plates.

The man then drove the foreign car to the Kaluga Region and returned home, fulfilling his part of the criminal agreement. Meanwhile, Novgorod detectives were searching for the car. They managed to quickly establish the exact route of the car and find it on private property. Having driven more than 800 km, the car was safe and sound. After that, the detectives detained the car thief - he was visiting relatives in the Parfino District. A criminal case was opened on this fact. At the request of the investigator and the court's decision, the man was arrested. The foreign car was returned to its owner.

The police are working to establish the identity of the “customer” of the foreign car, possible accomplices of the hijacker and his involvement in committing similar crimes.
